Palestine events - Open Mic

Meet the Team

Amina Rashid

A devoted cat mom, a true food enthusiast, and a wanderer of the globe, my journey through six countries has finally led me to embrace a deep affection for the Middle East. Fueled by my unwavering passion for books and photography, I've come to recognize myself as a storyteller. What I once considered a penchant for talking too much has matured into my greatest strength – the ability to convey tales to the world and, more significantly, to lend an ear to the narratives woven by the world itself. This compelling drive is what propelled me to join OMP. I'm here to listen and to share, to view others not as distant entities, but as fellow human beings. My aim is to comprehend their stories, and when understanding eludes me, to offer unwavering support while they navigate the vulnerability of the spotlight.

Ramzi Sabella

Ramzi Sabella, a 21-year-old from Bethlehem, Palestine. My relationship with creativity is deeply rooted in my passions for music and technology. Not only do I love playing the guitar and snare drums, but I also find creativity in troubleshooting and fixing computers. I'm currently studying Information Technology at Ahliya Bethlehem University. Additionally, my role as a gym coach has taught me the importance of discipline and growth, both mentally and physically. I joined Open Mic Palestine (OMP) because I see it as a unique platform where I can express my creative voice and merge my technical skills with my artistic inclinations. Through OMP, I hope to connect with fellow creatives, share my experiences, and contribute to the vibrant artistic community in Palestine.

Stephanie Saieh

My name is Stephanie Saieh, 22 years old, Palestinian - Colombian. I studied English Literature & Language, Minor in Psychology. Since childhood, I have always admired literature books, poems, musical lyrics; it showed how people were creative in how they could express their thoughts, feelings, etc. always people convey bigger meanings in their words. I love writing and reading, so I hope one day I could have the opportunity to be a creative person. I joined OMP because when I participated with them the first time, it felt like home. I felt I belonged with my people, I felt heard, and everyone was supportive. Becoming a part of them, it means I can encourage others to share, and find their voices and their place.

Eslam Dabank

is a Palestinian-Ukrainian writer from Bethlehem city, Palestine. Eslam majored in Business administration at Bethlehem University graduating with BBA, and is currently seeking a Master’s degree in International Cooperation and Development. He has always had a special relationship with literature, ever since he was a teenager, when he started writing. For Eslam, creativity is an act of defiance; defiance of norms, defiance of what is real, defiance of our entire existence, or the ordinary - the things he believes we should be able to beautify, exaggerate, interpret, or utilise with the miraculous instrument that is our mind. With Open Mic Palestine, Eslam believes that a new wave of creativity will be able to shine in the local community, and he wishes to be a part of the movement that starts it all.
